Building Impressions:

*This is definitely an "older" ARF.  Construction is fine, but a bit heavy, and it doesn't show the fit and finish of the Hangar 9 33Cap, Great Planes Christen Eagle, or Wild Hare products.

Flying Impressions:

*The maiden on the cap did not go well.  It seems these planes have a downthrust issue, if what we experienced and what RC Universe buzz says is true.  We got the DA50 fired right up, (it ran great), did a range check, and taxied a bit before Brian went for it.  The controls were a bit sensitive, but after a couple clicks of Up and one of Aileron, the plane seemed to fly pretty well.  The trouble started when Brian set up for landing.  Power off resulted in a terrible tendency to balloon and stall.  Looked like a downthrust issue.  Brian made a couple of practice approaches, and was setting up for final when things got ugly.  A crosswind, another balloon, a stall, and the plane went in short of the runway.  No obvious damage to the engine or electronics, but the plane was lost.

Brian added some color to the stock scheme..
