Sig Kadet Mk II
The Kadet was/is my 3rd trainer, after the Falcon 56 and short-lived BeDe 6.  It is now about 23 years old, and I'm currently teaching my son to fly it.

Initial Impressions:

I remember that the cool thing about this kit was that the ribs were all already pre cut!

Flying Impressions:

*This plane is set up for 3-channel operation (no ailerons.)  When I bought my first radio, 3-channels were about $35 cheaper than four channels.  Which was a lot of money to me at the time.
*It flies super slow and stable, in fact, with anything bigger than a 10x6 prop it can be a bit tough to land - without a very low idle it just won't come down!
*The wire main gear is incredibly tough.  I've bent it every which way and the gear or the fuse have never failed.  Bend 'em back and go again.
*I like the looks of Kadets.  I think they have classic "trainer" lines.  If there is such a thing.

Fueling up so we can get Gary on the buddy box...

Notice the confident, relaxed stance.  No nerves here, Gary is sure he can tame the beast.

And awaaay we go!

Success!!  Gary had no problems staying oriented and flying rectangles, circles and figure 8's.  I think he might be hooked...
